2nd Annual WoodFest

The 2015 WoodFest event was highly successful and we expect it to be even more successful this year.

Commemorating the past & present of working with wood, the WoodFest is located at the Family Resource Field from 12:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday, May 7th, 2016.

Participate and visit our Wood Fest event during the Festival and go for bragging rights in the Firewood Competition!

The WoodFest includes the following contests:

Two-Person Cross Cut

All Hand Tool Contest

Block-Splitting, and the

Firewood Competition:  Get your team of 2-5 persons together now and start practicing. This is a team competition featuring hand tools. This timed competition consists of making firewood sized pieces of wood from a log. The log is to be de-barked using a drawknife, then sawed through with a crosscut saw, and that piece then split with an axe into pieces small enough to fit through a specific sized hole. Fastest overall times to receive prizes. Teams of 2 to 5 recommended.

This year, WoodFest also features a FREE wood bird house and helicopter building activity for kids, with all materials donated by Home Depot.

This year, we focus on the Kid's program with lots of kits from Home Depot and wood materials from Robert's shop just in time for Mother's Day!
